___Historical Fact___
|
As a quick little history lesson, the first recorded attempt at snowboarding was actually back in 1929. A man by the name of M.J. "Jack" Burchett cut a plank out of plywood and secures his feet to it with clothesline and horse reins.
It wasn't till 1965 when Sherman Poppen, a gas chemical engineer in Muskegon *I presume Michigan*, created "The Snurfer" that any recognition really started being known. The Snurfer was actually a toy for his daughter made by binding two skis together and using a rope attached to the nose the rider could hold to help maintain stability.
